Blue Ray Disk

Blu-ray Disc (BD) is an optical storage medium used for digital data storage. It was introduced in 2006 as a successor to DVDs and quickly became popular for storing and playing back high-definition (HD) video content.

A Blu-ray Disc is a circular disc made of polycarbonate plastic, with a diameter of 120mm and a thickness of 1.2mm. The data is stored on a spiral track of pits and lands molded into the surface of the disc. A single-layer Blu-ray Disc can store up to 25 GB of data, while a dual-layer disc can store up to 50 GB of data.

To read data from a Blu-ray Disc, a blue laser beam is used to scan the surface of the disc and detect the changes in reflectivity caused by the pits and lands. The data is then converted into digital signals that can be decoded by a Blu-ray player or computer.
