Device Driver

Device drivers typically provide low-level control over the hardware device, enabling the operating system to communicate with the device at a very detailed level. This allows the operating system to take advantage of the specific features and capabilities of the hardware device, and to optimize its performance for different types of applications.

Device drivers are usually provided by the device manufacturer, and are often included with the hardware device or available for download from the manufacturer's website. When a new hardware device is connected to a computer system, the operating system will typically search for and install the appropriate device driver automatically.
