Light Pen

 Light Pen

A light pen is a computer input device that allows the user to interact with a computer screen by pointing at it directly. It consists of a pen-shaped device with a light-sensitive sensor on the tip and a cord that connects it to the computer.

When the user touches the screen with the light pen, the sensor detects the position of the pen and sends a signal to the computer. The computer then uses this information to perform an action, such as selecting an item on the screen or drawing a line.

Light pens were popular in the 1980s and early 1990s, particularly for computer-aided design (CAD) and other graphics-intensive applications. However, they have largely been replaced by other input devices, such as the mouse, trackball, and touch screen.
