CREATING THE GROUPS

The Single Group allows you to create one group at a time where as the Multiple Group option allows you to create several related groups at a time so it saves your time.

·         Creating a Group

You can create a new group to categorize your ledgers.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the Gateway of Tally.
  2. Go to Create > Group.
  3. Enter the Name for your new group.
  4. Specify the parent group under which the new group will be

classified in the Under field.

  1. Press Enter to save the changes.

·         Altering a Group

If you need to modify an existing group, you can do so through the alteration screen.

Steps:

  1. From the Gateway of Tally, go to Alter > Group.
  2. Select the group you wish to modify from the List of Groups.
  3. In the Group Alteration screen, you can change the name or the parent group.
  4. Press Ctrl + A to accept and save the modifications.

·         Deleting a Group

You can delete a group that is no longer needed. However, a group cannot be deleted if it has sub-groups or ledgers under it.

Steps:

  1. Go to the Gateway of Tally > Alter > Group.
  2. Select the group you want to delete from the List of Groups.
  3. In the Group Alteration screen, press Alt + D.
  4. A confirmation message will appear. Press Y to confirm the deletion.
